About Us
Tom was born August 16, 1967 in Toronto, ON. During Tom's
younger years, he worked with his father Prospero (Peter) at
their family business. While there, Tom learned the values of
working hard and being an honest and caring business man.
Tom, graduated from high school in Mississauga, ON in 1986.
Tom then attended The University of Guelph, where he learned
a great deal about animal physiology, kinetics and nutrition.
Tom graduated with his Bachelor of Science in Agriculture
(Animal Science) in 1992.
Between his freshman and senior years at Guelph, Tom worked
his way up through the ranks as a hotwalker and groom.
Shortly after graduation, Tom took out his Assistant Trainer's
licence under mentor, Ross Armata. Tom started his training
career at Fort Erie Race Track, where he fine tuned his training
skills which prepared him for a career as a trainer.
After receiving his Trainer's licence in 1993, Tom Marino Racing
Stables was established. Tom won his first race in his second
start as a trainer with Satins Choice in the month of May. In his
first year, Tom won 18 races. Tom continued at the border oval
until the following year, where he moved his stable to Woodbine
Race Track .
Today, Tom continues to train at Woodbine Race Track along
with his wife, Angie and help from his father.
